A person with spinal cord injury since his younger days he has never got his disability to come in his way. He has been working relentlessly for the last many years and helping people with spinal cord injury and disabilities to integrate back into the society

Apart from his role as a peer counsellor he has been pioneer in forming many associations and societies in his endeavor for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities.

  • Prestigious “IBN7 Super Idols Award 2012” to honour as achiever with special disabilities, who soared beyond physical challenges and conventional barrier to realize chosen dreams. Trophy was presented by famous cine- star Salman Khan in March 2012 in Mumbai.
  • The “Late Shri Kailashpat Singhania Award” for the year 2009 in recognition of outstanding achievements by National Society for Equal Opportunities for the handicapped.
  • Memento by the 6th Abilympic Association in appreciation of contribution in the access audit of hotels and buildings to make the event successful.
  • Social group “ Sadbhana Saroj” felicitated “ Person Who Inspires Others” in 2003

Under the UN-ESCAP project played an very important role as member of the cross disability team in inspecting and making important infrastructures, roads, signals, bus stands and footpaths a barrier free zone.

Recognized as a resource person in the area of “sexuality & Sexual Options for people with Locomotor Disabilities” for the Asia-Pacific region and has made numerous presentations and held workshops in various countries.

Worked as a project associate  on a three year research project “INSPIRE” at ISIC in collaboration with NIDRR” USA to conduct an epidemiological study of spinal injury cases  and creation of psycho-social tool for people with spinal cord injuries.

  • Invited by the European Spinal Cord Injury Federation as a Panellist on” The Impact of the Financial Crisis on the Policies for person with SCI” at Lucignano, Italy (May 2012).
  • Presented a research paper, titled “PEER COUNSELLING A HOLISTIC PSYCHO_SOCIAL REHABILITATION APPROACH” at the 49th International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) conference at New Delhi 2010.
  • Presented a paper on “Spinal Cord Injured Issues & Challenges and Role of Advocacy Organizations in India” at the 10th Asian Spinal Cord Network (ASCoN) conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka, October 2011.
  • Organized “Peer Counselling Workshop” for ASCoN countries to formulate a proper protocol for peer counselling and also designing a peer counselling training programme at Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi 2009.
  • Presentation on “Sexuality and Spinal Cord Injuries” at the 41st American Association of Sexuality Educators, counsellors and Therapists held at Phoenix, May 2009.
  • Presented a paper on “Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation Disability Act 1995” at an International meet on Independent Living at Honolulu, Hawaii, USA 2000.
  • Invited to present a paper on “Empowerment and Advocacy of the people with Disabilities” at International conference on the theme, “Choices and opportunities with disabled people” sponsored by “Leonard Cheshire International, London 1998.

My Autobiography “Yadon ka Safarnama “ in Hindi was launched at India International Centre on March 8, 2015 in presence of Shri Pushpesh Pant and many others highly placed well wishers. A need is felt to publish it in English through a popular publishing house.
